Notes on London Fashion Week

After the New York Fashion Week, it’s  time to pass on the London Fashion Week and as you remember I shared my notes on 3.1 Phillip Lim. Now I’d like to give my notes on the London Fashion Week without losing time.

Burberry

Burberry

Probably the most eye-popping fashion show was the one of Burberry. The collection stucked us  in a world heavily dominated by dark green, a color that we are accustomed to see on soldiers.  Yet more, I was depressed at the beginning of this show. While we were waiting  to find out where Christopher Bailey was, outfits turned out to be cheerful. Blacks, browns, purples, and pinks were among the other leading actors that appeared on the catwalk and the show ended in bright colors. Women in uniforms and archives were the sources of inspiration for Bailey. The most eye- catching staples were the cloaks and coats, which certainly were not close fitting. So don’t be afraid of wearing loose and large outfits. Burberry, too, introduced fur staples through chic and sophisticated combinations. If you’re ready to enroll in army, pick your green Burberry!

Matthew Williamson

Matthew Williamson

On the other hand, Matthew Williamson greeted his fans with a fall collection looking  considerably unexpected of him when compared with his previous collections. You can see that his general style of colorful and chirpy outfits gave the floor to moderate and mature outfits in this collection.  The most amazing part laying behind this collection is the success of this famous designer in surviving  the hardship of trying a different style. Of course, brightest colors came once more in the forefront, but this time in a concept including casual tweeds. Sumptuous fur staples turned out to be more high-sounding, for being embellished  with various kinds of materials. Probably grey and blue did not match each other as well as in this collection.

House of Holland

House of Holland

The Henry of House of Holland introduces another confusing collection, as he always does. It is said that New York was the source of inspiration for this collection. Don’t you think that this collection looks like reflecting the mood of adolescents as a result of the slogans, stripes and bananas printed on the outfits? I think that the previous collections of House of Holland were better than this one. However, I feel the desire to give the devil his due, because I adored the shoes of this collection.
