It’s been just one month since Alexander Mcqueen passed away. But PPR, which has a controlling 51% of McQueen, has right away begun to pursue a new successor of him. The latest and the most reasonable speculation is that Gareth Pugh is the first name on a PPR list of designers wanted to head Alexander McQueen. The reasons seem smart: The 28 year old designer seems to be nominated for being a fashion legend. He is on top of the list with his marginal and futuristic collections. But, with Anna Wintour being at the top, all fashion doyennes are the first ones to watch. So, what if a name with a solid place and style in the fashion world suceeds a legendary designer, who shook the fashion world with his tragic death? Does he loose the features of his own originality under the Alexander Mc Queen label? Isn’t it a fast move? As you see, rumors have obviously borne a series of questions in my mind. I don’t think PPR will make a wrong decision. My hope is that the company will not move too fast just in order to fill in Mcqueen’s place.
With a few photos of Gareth Pugh’s most outstanding collections, I leave the answers to you.
