I regret being a bit late for writing an article on Alexander McQueen’s 2010-2011 Fall/Winter Men’s collection which was a visual feast above everything. The most outstanding part of this collection that was based on the line between reality and fantasy was undoubtedly marvelous patterns which can also be so called psychedelic. Skull shapes that have been used by the renowned designer almost as a signiture in his previous collections, were perfectly blended into these patterns without taking much attention. In this collection, I was seized by the impression that McQueen gave life to his imaginary heroes using long jackets, with stirrup pants passing under the shoes and with masks covering the whole parts of the face apart from nose and eyes. Woolen suits, in particular, were enriched with leather and fur details. As for accessories, gloves and big bags were prominent.
Although we will never have the chance of either seeing or wearing his new designs, I heartily thank Alexander McQueen again for all of his reforms in the fashion world and for all of his bewitching collections up-to-date. Rest in peace…
